Hazel Gould is a writer, director and workshop leader who specialises in the
creation of new opera. Her work as a librettist and director is based on collaborative practice, and she creates work both with and for a diverse range of professional and non-professional artists and participants. Her work in learning and participation is broad and wide ranging, and she has worked with thousands of diverse participants to explore and create art over a 20 year career. She works regularly with major Opera Houses and Orchestras around the UK and in Europe.
Pete Letanka is a jazz pianist, composer, workshop leader and presenter. He studied Jazz and contemporary music at Leeds College of Music, where he won a scholarship to spend a year studying under (Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition winner) Mark Polishook at the University of Maine, USA. He graduated in 1997 with a 1st class BA (hons) and the Leeds University Armes award for the highest mark in the year.
In 2005 he formed The Pete Letanka Trio and has performed regularly at leading jazz venues and concert halls across the UK including Ronnie Scotts, the Purcell Room and the Queen Elizabeth Hall. In 2005, he was signed to Zephyr Records (the award-winning jazz record label) who released his debut album, “Afrostocracy”.
His work as a composer has led to collaborations with Jazz at Lincoln Centre, the Pasadena Pops (California, USA), Royal Opera House, English National Opera, London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He has worked in schools and prisons across the UK, inspiring vulnerable young people to find new confidence through composition and improvisation. He has led international cross-arts projects in South Africa, India, Lebanon, Spain and Portugal. He spent five years as a music director of Glyndebourne Youth Opera and three years as the artistic director of Aldeburgh Music’s Group A.

Following a History of Art degree from Leeds University and a year studying scenic design under Allison Chitty at Motley, Rhiannon has amassed 18 years experience as a Set and Costume Designer, Art Director, and Producer. Rhiannon’s design experience is multidisciplinary, spanning; Theatre, Opera, large scale community shows, music festivals, immersive theatre and events. Rhiannon has extensive experience in using design in a devising process and delivering design workshops to all ages both in person and more recently in front of the camera.
