Covid -19 Update
16 March 2020
I would like to share my thoughts with you. Our summer Festival looks increasingly precarious, but until we are specifically told to by the government, we are not cancelling. So many of you have bought tickets, signed up as a Friend and a Founder, and have offered unbounded support. I, and all of us, are immensely grateful.
If the worst happens, and we do indeed cancel this year’s Festival in full, I will be in immediate touch with you all, and explain exactly what we propose should happen to your tickets.
We also have a duty of care to all those who are due to come and perform and work behind the scenes. They are mostly employed by us on a freelance basis, and we feel we cannot simply abandon them without any compensation.
Whatever we do, we are determined first of all to survive this crisis, and with the generous support of all concerned, we feel we have a very good chance of doing so. And then we will plan for the future with unbridled enthusiasm and ambition.
Let me share one idea we are seriously considering. If our 2020 Festival sadly does not happen, we want to present it in full as our 2021 programme. This is something we feel we can achieve without too much difficulty.
I would like to wish each and every one of you my profoundest goodwill for the coming weeks and months. I feel we are all part of a lively and friendly Grange family. Let that continue well past these challenging times.
With my very best wishes,
Michael Chance
