Ballet Black: Double Bill was part of The Grange Festival 2025 lineup, with a special one-night-only performance on the 3rd of July. 2025 saw the return of Cassa Pancho's acclaimed Ballet Black – a company that had transformed the landscape of British ballet, creating a prominent platform for dancers and artists of Black and Asian descent, as well as establishing a new canon of ballet repertoire that resonated with audiences around the world.

A highlight of The Grange Festival 2025, this one-night-only ballet performance offered a rare opportunity to experience boundary-breaking contemporary dance in the heart of Hampshire.

Ballet Black performed a double bill of work by leading choreographers. Award-winning choreographer Chanel DaSilva explored what it meant to be human in her new work, which focused on using the power of the arts to inspire change in the dance world and beyond. Franco-British artist and Choreographer in Residence at Scottish Ballet, Sophie Laplane, explored triumph over adversity in If At First, inspired by the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
