Sounds of Social Distancing | Week 4

Playlist |

Extraordinary to think, but it’s Week 6 of Lockdown, and Week 4 of our Grange Playlists.I should have been quicker off the mark!

I do hope you are discovering old favourites as well as new jewels. I used to be rather annoying with friends when giving dinner parties, and play selections like this after dinner, so I now realise this is what I have been doing for a long time. I know they jump around abruptly, but that seems to be the nature of playlists. If you spot any connections with the current crisis, they are probably inadvertent. The point really is to divert, amuse and transport. It’s also fun to be able to move seamlessly from Nat King Cole, through Bach and Thomas Tallis to Vaughan Williams, and other random degrees of musical separation. Actually so much musical imagination is linked across genres and really knows no boundaries. I hope that these selections show this a bit.

Happy listening. I do hope you are comfortable, connected and content.
