Round Three.

This could go on for a long time - but let’s hope not ! Again rather a mixed bag, but all goodies I hope you agree. And this time a couple of linked pairs - the two arias from Manon Lescaut, now to be seen at The Grange in 2021, and the Purcell/Britten link of theme and variation, featuring our two festival orchestras.

There seems to be developing a bit of a shape to the selections. Last time we started with an overture, this time one of a different sort: the break of day. And we again end with quite a long meditative piece, which I suspect many of you will know or at least recognize. And the more lively dance numbers will, I hope, get you up and moving in spontaneous syncopation. Selfie-films please!

We have probably most of us settled into some sort of a lockdown rhythm. I trust yours is giving as much pleasure as it must also stress and worry. Maybe some of this music will provide some joy and distraction. I do hope so.
