SPRING OPEN DAY | SUNDAY 29 APRIL

12.30pm to 5.30pm

In association with St John’s Northington Church

The Grange Festival is delighted to announce details of our Spring Open Day. The theatre and the grounds will be abuzz with activity as we welcome a wonderful array of local pop-up food and drink stalls, gifts and produce to buy and take home, and an exciting programme of entertainment throughout the afternoon – all within the beautiful surroundings of the Grange Estate. There will be plenty of parking with a £5 voluntary donation per car.

Michael Chance in conversation with Alan Titchmarsh

In the theatre, we showcase finalists from the Martin Read Foundation Young Composer’s Scheme with introductions and interviews by Jonathan Dove.  Alan Titchmarsh will join Michael Chance on stage for a chat about this summer’s festival. Karen Gillingham, Director of The Grange Festival’s new Summer Education Project, introduces Opera in a Week, an interactive, high impact, entertaining, fun session for children and families, devising a new opera in an intensive week in August.

Rowan Pierce | 2017 Singing Competition Winner

With the launch of Dance@TheGrange this summer, we have included various dance pieces into our Open Day entertainment, including Hampshire Youth Dance showcasing their new piece by Jasmine Varidimon. We end the afternoon in the theatre with an exclusive Grange Festival production, Combattimento – Warriors and Lovers in Song, by Claudio Monteverdi – featuring singers and players from The Grange Festival 2017, including Rowan Pierce, winner of our International Singing Competition.

Nell Gwynn | West Meon Theatre

Winchester dance school Integr8 will perform interactive workshops and open performances around the Grange site, and West Meon Theatre will showcase their ‘work in progress’ Nell Gwynn within the beautiful setting of the ruined mansion.
